Xbox Live Gold becomes Xbox Game Pass Core
September will witness significant transformations for Xbox as one of the most enduring console subscription services, Xbox Live Gold, will be retired. The retirement is scheduled for September 14, paving the way for the introduction of Game Pass Core, a new offering from Microsoft that is being hailed as the next phase in the evolution of Xbox Live Gold.
For over two decades, Xbox Live has been a staple of the gaming community, providing a platform for players to connect and compete online. As part of this evolution, Microsoft bids farewell to Games with Gold.
What are the key differences between Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Core?
With the introduction of Game Pass Core, users can now enjoy the advantages of online multiplayer gaming that were previously exclusive to Xbox Live Gold. Additionally, Game Pass Core offers the added benefit of accessing a diverse library of more than 25 exceptional console games, all playable on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles. Remarkably, this expanded experience comes at an equivalent price to that of Xbox Live Gold, providing gamers with enhanced value and entertainment.
Additionally, Game Pass Core regions will be the same as Xbox Live Gold. See this link for reference: xbox.com/regions. And new games will be added 2-3 times per year.
What are the 4 different tiers of Game Pass now?
For individuals who seek online multiplayer capabilities and access to the Game Pass catalog on their console, the requirement remains unchanged: opting for the Core or Ultimate subscription is necessary. Without a Core or Ultimate subscription, console users will not be able to avail themselves of online multiplayer features or enjoy the extensive Game Pass catalog.
